Writing an EPE paperback
Under the imprint ‘England’s Past for Everyone’, the VCH publishes a paperback series which covers various places and topics in local history. The first books in the series appeared in 2006 and by 2010 no fewer than fifteen will have been published.
By contrast with the red books, the paperback series is designed to present local history in a format which is easy to grasp and will appeal to a wide audience. The books are heavily illustrated, with maps, plans, contemporary prints and modern pictures.
The books include explanatory panels linking the subject matter to methods in local history, and they pay particular attention to buildings and to architectural history.
