Volume 11: Clacton, Walton and Frinton: North-East Essex Seaside Resorts is now available. The volume is an authoritative account of the growth and development of these three towns on the "Sunshine Coast".

Priced at £95 the volume is available from Boydell&Brewer and you can order it today.

We are currently working on VCH Essex volume XII in the red book series, which will cover the parishes of St Osyth, Great Clacton, Little Clacton, Great Holland, Little Holland, Frinton, Walton-le-Soken, Thorpe-le-Soken, and Kirby-le-Soken. We also have volunteer groups working in the Clacton and Newport areas and we are planning other projects across the county.

The production of future volumes in the VCH Essex series depends upon the support of The VCH Essex Trust (Reg. Char. 1038801) and on volunteers helping with research. For more information on how to donate or to volunteer see Support.

This Work in Progress page contains links to individual pieces of VCH research and writing that will ultimately contribute to Volume XII. These pieces are VCH drafts which are sufficiently finished to allow public access, but which may be substantially altered before publication and we hope that the final text will therefore be improved.
