Mapledurwell

Work on Mapledurwell is being undertaken for VCH Hampshire II.

Mapledurwell was selected as the first parish to be published for the New VCH series because of the substantial research previously carried out by Stan Waight, especially on the estate held by Corpus Christi College, Oxford, in Mapledurwell. Stan continues to research and write for the project. Many others have contributed to research on Mapledurwell including John Chapman worked on the Enclosure of 1797 and Lorna Cuthill and Gordon Russell-Cave who provided local information and corrected errors. Wills and inventories relating to Mapledurwell were transcribed by the volunteer wills group who meet regularly at Chute House.
