THE BISHOP AND THE BLACK DEATH

A talk by Tom Mayberry on this calamitous event in Somerset’s history. Given in the town where Ralph of Shrewsbury, Bishop of Bath & Wells, took refuge from ‘the pestilence’.

This will be a joint event between SANHS and the Wiveliscombe Civic Society at St Andrew’s Church, Church Street, Wiveliscombe on Thursday 24 October at 7.30 pm.

There is a parking in Croft Way carpark, west of traffic lights and on north side of road, less than 5 minutes walk from the church. Leave the car park and walk west, cross at the traffic lights and you will find the entrance to the church on your right on the south side of the street.
