From visiting a working coal mine with no safety equipment and thousands of candles to hearing a lecture in a station waiting room during a rainstorm, but always with the hope of a splendid repast or at least a cold collation to follow, the intrepid ladies and gentlemen of the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society went to great lengths to find out about their county's history.
