Wiltshire
Status: Active, 17 volumes published
The Wiltshire VCH was founded in 1947, and since 2004 has been based in the department of history at the University of the West of England, Bristol, where we work closely with our colleagues in the Regional History Centre.
Of the 17 volumes published, Volumes I to V in the Wiltshire series are on general topics relating to the whole county. Volumes VI to XVII are topographical volumes, containing the histories of individual parishes and towns. Around three quarters of the work on Wiltshire has already been finished. The main aim of VCH Wiltshire is now to complete the remaining topographical volumes.
