Cirencester

VCH Volume:
Gloucestershire XVI - Cirencester and district
Castle Street, Cirencester

Cirencester's medieval period (Anglo-Saxon to 1540) has been researched and written by Dr Beth Hartland, and a draft will be posted here shortly. Meanwhile, Dr Francis Boorman is working on the post-Reformation part of the project in collaboration with an enthusiastic group of volunteers. The draft of the history of Cirencester from 1540 to 1945 written by Francis, his predecessor Antonia Catchpole and a number of volunteers is available below. As inidcated in the text a few sections are still outstanding, which will be incorporated in the text as soon as possible.

Comments on the draft are very welcome, and should be addressed to vchglos@btinternet.com.
