Could you be our new fundraising officer?

Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust was formed ten years ago to raise money to cover the costs of training volunteers, researching parish histories and publishing the results of that research. We have achieved a great deal since then. We have published two paperback histories, with another on course for completion in 2020, and have published two other parish histories online. With the help of the Heritage Lottery Fund we have recruited hundreds of volunteers from all walks of life, who have contributed to research into the Charnwood area. They have gathered information from which the histories of 24 parishes, including Loughborough, can be written. Our two paperbacks (both published in 2017) have been very successful in attracting local interest, and have also impressed potential donors, who have gained a fuller understanding of what can be achieved.

We now seek a fundraising officer to help us raise money to enable us to publish our research on the histories of Loughborough, Charnwood and the wider area. You will probably have experience of raising funds for charities. This is a paid position, for a fixed term of two years, subject to satisfactory progress against specific targets.

A role description is attached, which includes details of how to apply. The closing date for applications is Monday 7th May 2018.
