VCH Leicestershire Book Launch

22 March, 2017 (All day)
Book launch

Join us at Donington Hall on 22 March at 6.00 for 6.30 pm for a drinks reception and launch of our new book, a history of the parish of Castle Donington. This is a major milestone for Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust, as it is the first book to be published in the Leicestershire VCH series since 1964. Donington Hall became the main home for the Hastings family after Ashby (de la Zouch) castle was surrendered to parliamentary forces in 1646. The present Hall was designed by William Wilkins (senior) for Francis, Lord Rawdon, 2nd earl of Moira in 1790.

Places are limited and booking is essential. The final few tickets are now available at

Please note that the entrance to Donington Hall is off Park Lane in Castle Donington, and NOT through Donington Park.

Leicestershire Victoria County History Trust is grateful to all our donors and supporters for making this publication and event possible.

Castle Donington is also available as an e-book.
