Kirby Bellars

St Peter's church Kirby Bellars lies close to the River Wreake

VCH volunteer Alan Fox has completed the research for this parish, and written the parish history, which is published online under this link. Kirby Bellars was a thriving parish in medieval times, but enclosure in the early 17th century resulted in some deliberate depopulation. The site of the priory has been disputed in the past, but this parish history reveals the correct site, which is supported by unambiguous documentation.
