Hilary Binding Memorial Walk

1 April, 2017 (All day)
Alcombe
Walkers at brickyard site

After torrential rain the skies cleared and we visited St Michael’s church which Hilary knew well and of which she wrote a short history. We explored the interesting buildings in Alcombe village and found some quirky modern plasterwork, before delving into industrial relics. We discovered an impressive sewer ventilator, hitherto unrecorded but following our walk it now has an entry on the Somerset HER!

The walk will be repeated on 1 July but numbers are limited so book now to be sure of a place. We also hope to do a short coast walk next year uncovering both history and natural history.
