VCH Wiltshire - Fixed Fee Short Term Research Contract

VCH Wiltshire requires a historian of the English Early Modern (1550s onwards) and Modern periods to research and write for us a chapter in our forthcoming 20th Volume in the Wiltshire VCH series, covering the town and environs of Chippenham. Further details of this project can be found here.The chapter subject is Chippenham Local Government and Parliamentary Representation.

Our historian will have a sound academic background in English history and a record of publication will be an advantage. He or she will be a well organised self-starter, familiar with relevant sources at the National Archives and ideally with experience of working on the VCH or allied projects. The work will be carried out to the established standards of the VCH, as overseen by the Institute of Historical Research at the University of London, and on publication (initially online) will be credited to the author.
