Downscombe Farm, Exford
Nice rubble house, long with brick segmental window-heads. Looks C19 but disposition suggests 3 rooms and through passage. Yard opposite side of road. Low wall to house. Nice C18 and C19 group makes informal yard, partly enclosed by low walls. Roofs slate and one asbestos sheets. Yard part cobbled. Downscombe was a small manorial estate in the 11th century. In 1086 it was held by a lady called Aethelgifu.
